Create Your First Assistant
The wizard on Home does the heavy lifting: point it at your website or your documents, and it builds the dataset and the assistant for you, in one flow. You don't create the pieces by hand — you answer a few friendly questions and it assembles them.
Two Ways to Start
On Home you'll see two starting points. Pick the one that matches where your knowledge lives:
- Create assistant for your website — paste your site's address. The wizard crawls your pages and learns from them. Best when your content is already published online.
- Ask your documents — upload files (a handbook, a price list, a folder of PDFs) and it learns from those. Best when your knowledge lives in documents, not on a website.
You can always add the other kind of content later — this is just where you begin.
The Wizard, Step by Step
After you enter your website address (or upload your files) and a name you'll recognize, the wizard reads your content and walks you through five short steps:
- Display mode — how the assistant appears on your site: a Floating button, Embedded in your page, or a Search box. This is exactly how it will look once you embed it, so pick what fits your layout.
- Identity — the name, avatar, and welcome message your visitors see first.
- Theme — colors and look, so it matches your brand.
- Tips — a few starter questions shown before a visitor types, to nudge them toward what the assistant does well.
- You're all set — a final review. Choose Save and test your assistant and try it in the sandbox.
Give the crawl a moment
On the website path, bigger sites take longer to read — the wizard has to visit your pages before it can answer. If it looks like it's thinking, it is.
The Moment It Clicks
In the sandbox, ask it something you already know the answer to. Seeing your own words come back — in plain language, with a source link — is the moment it stops feeling like setup and starts feeling like a product.
If an early answer is thin, it's almost always the content, not the assistant. Add the missing page or file and ask again.
