Re-run a Data Capture Job
Changed a page and want the assistant to know now? Don't wait for the schedule — run the job again. The job revisits the same source with the same scope settings and refreshes the content it finds. Pages that haven't changed stay as they are; pages with new content get updated, and newly discovered pages are added.
Before You Start
- Make sure the job isn't already running — only one run can be active at a time.
Steps
- Open Data capture from the main menu.
- Find and open the job you want to re-run.
- Choose Run. A confirmation dialog appears, because the run will revisit all the URLs in scope and update the dataset with any changes.
- Confirm to start the run.
- Watch the status as it moves through the lifecycle stages (New → Running → Analysis → Finished). Depending on how many pages are in scope, this can take from a few seconds to several minutes.
Verify the Result
Once the run finishes, check the Refreshed contents tab to see which items were updated and the Discovered links tab to see any new URLs the job found.
Troubleshooting
- If the Run button is disabled, the job is already running, or your plan may not allow additional runs at this time.
- If the run finishes but nothing seems to have changed, the job's scope may be filtering out the pages you expected — check the included/excluded path rules and the crawl depth.
