Batch Operations

Editing items one by one gets old fast. When you need to retag, hide, or remove a large number of items at once, batch operations let you select a whole set and apply the change in a single action.

Available Actions

  • Batch edit — opens a dialog where you can replace the tags on every selected item (all existing tags are removed and the new ones are applied) or toggle hidden / visible (skipReferences). Hidden items still feed the assistant's context but won't appear as highlighted references in answers.
  • Batch delete — permanently removes the selected items from the dataset. This cannot be undone, so double-check your selection before confirming.

A single batch operation processes up to 1000 items per request. When it finishes, a summary tells you how many items were processed successfully and how many (if any) failed.

Steps

  1. Open the dataset's contents area from the dataset details page.
  2. Use search and filters to narrow down the items you want to change.
  3. Select items using the checkboxes next to each row. You can select individual items or use the select-all checkbox to pick every item on the current page.
  4. Choose Batch edit to change tags or visibility, or Batch delete to remove the selected items.
  5. In the dialog, review the action and confirm. The operation runs immediately, and the contents list refreshes when it's done.
