Customize the Search Page

Open a search center and use its configuration tabs. A search center reuses the assistant settings that make sense for a public search page and hides the conversational ones (behaviour, forms, greetings). The dataset is set at creation and isn't changed here.

General

The title, logo and description shown on your search center's masthead:

  • Publish a public page — whether the hosted search page exists (see [Share and

embed](#share-and-embed-a-search-center)).

  • Link name and read-only Public link — the address visitors use.
  • Search center title — the main heading above the search box.
  • Logo and Description — a short subtitle under the title.

How much of the dataset feeds each answer, and whether searches are remembered:

  • Use the full dataset as context for every answer — on by default. Turn it off to cap

how many documents each search retrieves with Documents retrieved per search.

  • Remember previous searches between visits — off by default, so every visit starts

fresh from the suggestions.

Search Suggestions

The example queries shown as clickable chips under the search box — a new search center starts with a few sample suggestions. Curate these to your top questions: they're the first thing visitors click. See Configure Hints for how suggestions work.

Appearance

The colour palette and theme applied to your public page. See Appearance Settings.

Translations

Localize the labels and messages shown on the search page. See Configure Translations.
