The CX-55 is a 48 MHz Cortex-M0+ microcontroller built for the jobs that don't need a big core: appliance control, glue logic and simple state machines. It sips power, runs from 1.8 to 5.5 V and packs I2C, SPI, UART and a 12-bit ADC into an easy-to-hand-solder QFP-48.
